This summer, the painfully cool Parisian cult brand, Zadig & Voltaire adds a twist to their signature laidback rock chic style. Inspired by Kate Moss and Clémence Poésy, Zadig & Voltaire's Spring/Summer collection named "Urban Pirate", a combination of preppy and pirate influences.
DIY is a reoccurring theme in the collection. Cargos are cut off to make mini-shorts, cashmere sweaters cut to fall above the belt, and jersey over-dyed and lightened.
The touches of metal with metallic sequins on eveningwear and cashmere jackets retains the brand's effortless rock chic spirit. Jackets also open to reveal skull, camouflage, and jacquard prints, blending the label's classic symbols.
Okay this is a bit extraneous (or not) but guess who's modelling the menswear? Adam Seann, the hot male model from the reality series, The City! You might also recognise him from Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2010 Campaign.
I'm loving the Shala Bag, a main feature of the collection. It comes in simple soft suede or leather, yet structured and accented with a skull, the brand's iconic symbol. This brown suede one above is my personal favourite, because the sparkly skull stands out from the brown suede.
