The September Issue's director RJ Cutler has produced a short film, called The Met Ball, that leads up to and covers the 2007 Poiret-themed event, which has been posted online in all its entirety.
In the video: Hamish Bowles, the European Editor at Large of Vogue, tries on a robe at Tom Ford and calls it "too queenie" for him.
The New York Times writes, "Its Anna's event and guests dress to please".
Sally Singer also describes the event as such: "It's one of those evenings where there's no real inherent value to the meal -— it's a fashion dinner so there's never an inherent value to the meal; the whole point is to go to the bathroom a lot to keep looking at people as you go in and out of the bathroom, and see who's in the bathroom."
